Whale Shark of Oslob, Cebu s located a few hundred meters away from the Bohol jetty, the main current that brings rich waters of marine animals from the Pacific Ocean into the Bohol waters. (inquirer.net)

 

Main water current flows to surrounding Panglao Island waters, Siquijor waters, Dumaguete waters, Oslob, Santander, Argao waters and Maribojoc Bay.

The Bohol Sea has the highest biodiversity for large marine vertebrates in Southeast Asia. With 28 species of dolphin and whales identified in the Philippines, 18 have been observed in the Bohol Sea, including the blue whale and about 250 new species of crustaceans and 2500 new species of mollusks were found around panglao island. The discovery was the work of the Panglao Marine Biodiversity Project. The project found that Panglao alone has more marine biodiversity than Japan and the Mediterranean sea (wikipedia).
